Look i get why schools are starting to require this extension but this extension collects so much data it could give the NSA a run for it's money. For me the extension did nothing but hog bandwidth, I'm not even sure it did what it was supposed to do. I feel like there's a better way to do this then install what is basically a schools answer to the Chinese surveillance state. |

Honestly, I use a Mac computer and my webcam light never came on the entire time I took my exam with Proctorio. Proctorio is supposed to disable copying/pasting, screenshots, new tabs, etc. I got kicked offline for no reason and took time to reconnect, I did get a screenshot with a blank white page and sent it to my professor. My exam had a question that asked me to attach my scratch sheet file, I had to leave the room to scan my scratch sheets so I can attach to my exam. When I returned to the room to submit, the exam was still intact. My experience was not a privacy issue. It is more on is the proctor browser extension being ineffective. |

Honestly with the schools pushing for this amount of invasion of privacy, the whole of the student body should file a lawsuit against any school that enforces programs like these. |

Invasive malware like software in the form of a proctoring tool. Extremely difficult to use with many difficult to facilitate requirements. Don't you dare accidentally open windows or turn up the volume or you might get kicked out of the test! Don't even think of clicking the link the professor provides! You'll have to redo your video verification and 360 spin while the timer counts down. Have pets, kids or roommates? Little private space? Well too bad because if a cat jumps into frame while taking this test you'll be kicked out! Absolute trash. Can't believe some universities are still requiring this with no in person alternative. And of course your headphone microphones will not meet the requirements. So best buy a microphone with a webcam just to use this mistake of a program. |
