This extension prevents "Google search" page from showing up when you open a new tab.
You can also disable the "Sign in to Chrome" page that is shown when you open a new Chrome window, just go to "chrome://settings" page, choose "Open a specific page or set of pages" and enter "chrome://newtab".

Great extension, tried it in Edge and it works but Edge keeps nagging about a changed new tab or simply disabling the extension. They really think people will use Bing if they force it on their new tab ??? Most searched word on Bing: Google, like 98% of searches on bing are "google". |

I do not miss the search bar since the address bar does the same thing. Miss the shortcuts a teensie bit, but the Apps function on the bookmark bar is only a click away. Definitely do not miss the little messages at the bottom of the page. |
