A simple Stop button

A simple Stop button, for those who want one to the right of the Address Bar.

To save RAM, the extension uses an event page rather than a persistent background page. Hopefully it won't lag during heavy disk access.

_ Vogelmann_ 2021-08-22 Does not work for me. Pressing this STOP button does nothing, pages keep loading. Even the animated loading image on the tab keeps rotating endlessly.
JeffMangumMagnum 2016-11-24 A simple extension to do a simple thing and stop pages from continuing to load. How is this so rare? Its the perfect way to stop all those add-blocker blockers begging for a whitelist.
Heather 2014-09-11 Works as described, which is a separate Stop button that Chrome lacks, to keep a page from loading.
. 2013-08-14 I wanted this to work like the stop button in Firefox, so that when I am on a page with animated gifs, clicking this should stop them moving. But it doesn't do anything. Most disappointing.
