Sprint Reader is an easy to use speed reading extension.

Simply select text on a webpage, right-click and select 'Sprint read selected text' from the menu. This will launch the reader window, the selected text is displayed word-by-word in a fixed focal position. The duration of each slide is calculated based upon a word-per-minute (WPM) setting.

This method of reading is known as “Rapid Serial Visual Presentation” or RSVP for short. Studies have shown the habit of internally “sounding out” (sub-vocalising) words is a limiting factor which prevents faster reading speeds from being obtained. RSVP eliminates the “sounding out” of words as individual words are not displayed long enough for sub-vocalisation to occur.

RSVP proves that humans are capable of absorbing information at speeds much faster than standard reading rates with the same level of comprehension.

Messes H 2022-04-28 I just tried for the first time and I sped my way through all these reviews, what an experience. I Loved It! I am so excited to try this more. The reason for the 4stars instead of 5stars is that I do not have a good enough history to recommend fully but I will do another review when I use more and when my grandsons see if it helps them. I am a reader anyway, I love reading fast or slow. however my two grandsons who are in highschool might need some push to love books. alas they did not find any of the books I found to buy them, (the ones I thought were great as a kid) were anything but something to avoid and certainly not useful to them in anyway. I guess what I liked is too outdated for them. LOL who takes thier Abuela's reocmmendations anyway at age 16 and 18? I should have been more wise. **I wanted to try this app because I thought it might help them. During Covid the youngest taught himself to play the ukelale and the piano as well as the guitar! I was kind of ticked because I was going to play those, and I did not learn fast enough. I think if he can learn to play actual full songs and multiples of them, within two months by using "tabs" then he can learn to speed read. This is fun like a video game so maybe I have found a hidden gem for school age children. After my experiement I will update this review.
Tal Leron 2022-01-14 Could be 5 stars if: - Could press Space-Bar to start reading the selected text (or just reconfigure the shortcuts) - There was a dark mode with transparancy - The box would be shown without opening a new window (and would be shut off by clicking anywhere else in the screen) - Stastistics would have more graphs/bars

· 2021-11-10 10/11/2021. Fui obrigado a dar uma estrela, mas por mim não daria nenhuma. Infelizmente as palavras ficaram embrulhados uma nas outras, perdendo-se todo sentido da leitura e compreensão da mesma. Uso um outro plugin que embora seja com recursos limitados, funciona muito bem dentro das suas limitações. Desejo sorte ao desenvolvedor deste produto, para que ele possa corrigir este grave defeito, e que todos possam se beneficiar.
Medhavi Monish 2021-08-27 i saw a video in youtube that we can actually read faster if words just shows at same location and we dont need to move our eye, that video works. And you guys really made something same. thanks a lot. it helps me keep focus as well.
