Pretty smart. Exactly what I was looking for. Still works Google Search 2019 and Chrome 71!
As an enhancement, I would greatly appreciate that menus themselves would be open as well. Or at least that they open on hover rather than with a click. I know that some text strings are long and that it would be a mess if all menus were open at the same time, but there must be a workaround :)

EDIT - while this extension works most of the time, sometimes the Search Options menu disappears completely!

This plugin makes the Search Tools menu appear on a separate line below the result categories (Web, Images, etc.). If this was all it accomplished I'd already give it 5 stars, but in addition, the drop-down menus activate when you hover over them. Instead of clicking through Search Tools and Any Time to get to the date range menu, you accomplish the same result just by hovering over Any Time and selecting it.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, as 90% of the time, I want to restrict searches to the last year. Thanks for making my searches much more efficient!

It does nothing but preventing Google from showing search suggestions.
