Annotates US cooking units with their metric equivalent (e.g. 1 3/4 cups sugar [350 g])

Do you have no idea what "a stick of butter" is, or how to measure "a cup plus two tablespoons"? This add-on provides a button that when pressed, annotates US cooking units with their metric equivalent, while also trying to convert from volumes to weights, such that you can simply use your kitchen scale. Examples, where the part in [] would be added by this add-on:

* I used about 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup [60–80 ml]
* 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons packed light-brown sugar [190 g]
* 1 1/2 sticks chilled unsalted butter [175 g]
* a tablespoon of heavy cream [15 g]
* 2/3 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano [65 g]
* sides about 2 1/2 to 3 inches [6.5–7.5 cm] high
* ¾ cup plus 2 Tbs sugar [175 g]
* mandoline set to 1/16th of an inch [2 mm].
* a 5- to 6-quart [4.75–5.75 l] heavy pot
* between 12 ounces and a pound [350–450 g]
* at about 350-380 degrees (F) [175–195 °C]
* Butter a 13- by 9- by 2-inch [32.5×22.5×5 cm] baking pan

I'm tired of constantly googling these odd US metrics - this is a great idea and it works very well!
I tested it on a bunch of sides including https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooking_weights_and_measures. It doesn't do tables it seems, but for plain text it works great. Awesome that it can catch "worded arithmetics" like this one: "Mix 3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp of flour [110 g]". As of now I haven't encountered any conversion issues.

edit: it doesn't catch that "worded arithmetic" sentence in the chrome web store but it does here: https://theheartyhenhouse.com/2019/02/07/sourdough-worth-the-effort/

A good extension that I would love to use, but why on earth does it insist on turning volume into weight? That would be a great optional feature for people who want to use their scales, but making it mandatory renders the whole extension basically useless for those of us who don't. Add a setting to switch to strict volume-to-volume conversions and it's an easy five-star.

Other option that would be nice are forcing dl instead of ml and disabling conversion of volume measures other than cups. Where I live, we have dl instead of cups and otherwise use essentially the same measurements, so seeing that 1 1/2 cups is 350ml is slightly annoying because I'd rather have it as 3.5dl, and specifying that 2 tablespoons is 30ml is just unnecessary clutter.

just installed and tested on a few recipes from different sites. seems to work fine. Only complaint would be it has to be turned off and on again for each page visited in order to convert, but this is a small gripe, much quicker than having look up conversions for each ingredient.

An update, after using for several weeks it has now stopped working. I also noticed that when comparing the same recipe on different websites it would give different gram weights for half cup of the same flour type on each site, varyng from 120 to 160g

Great app! Finds all the weird fraction and all measurement written on the sites I use.
Very good app for most types of cooking. But completely unusable for baking because of the extreme way if rounds number up or down to provide neat whole numbers. For instance 1.5 lbs become 700 grams instead of 680 gram.
It needs an option for adjusting precision.
